Born in Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where he lives and works, Pathy Tshindele is a graduate in sculpture from the Kinshasa School of Art Academie des Beaux-arts. In 2005, he completed his art studies in Strasbourg, France, at the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs where he stayed for three years.
After University, Pathy distanced himself from the artistic canons learned during his training and created a style inspired by Congolese popular art. Thus, he creates work that connects art and life and that questions the world. In fact, it is his way of showing attachments to different problems that are facing Africa and the world but above all his own country. This is best observed in his paintings which best condense the revolt, the language, the life, the street, the light, his personal history, that of his environment and his people.
Pathy Tshilende’s works are part of many collections: Collection Farida et Henri Seydoux, Paris, France CAAC The Pigozzi Collection, Genève, Suisse Collection Gervanne et Matthias Leridon, Paris, France Fondation Alliances, Casablanca, Maroc
